Camp Caravan, Royalston, Massachusetts.
The sun is shining, the sky is blue…
Waking, I believed it was Wednesday. Yesterday, I felt I had been here for a long time already.
An open day…
09.25 An electric performance at breakfast, followed by the same performer on acoustic. And a song, from a different performer.
11.54 This morning’s Guitar Meeting: addressing Variagation Victor I in various forms. Then, with an Inner Circle of 12 high flyers. A complete varegation in C major alternating with E; alternating with C & E flat; alternating with C & D. The Outer Circle more or less approached C & G, but had major difficulty in grasping the pattern even after repeated attempts.
Now, personal meetings.

A question at lunch: if we are to expect nothing (as per the aphoristic injunction) how do we prepare? Good comments offered. My suggestion, as an example with direct relevance to this course: expect nothing and become familiar with C major.
Good comments presented on the High-Flyers of the Inner Circle, our Alexander teacher noting their body states while circulating. What is a High Flyer? This is related to the level of challenge that is offered & the capacity to present an honourable response in return.
It was agreed that, in the guitar meeting this morning, I was to blame.
16.29 Personal meetings continue.
20.53 Dinner was late, again.
A performance at dinner ended all conversation. Then much discussion following on from the question of how best we might work this evening.
Comments on dispersal, attention moving outside the course. A course always reflects the state of the kitchen.
We are in the middle.
For this evening: I will be in the movements building at 22.15, willing to work with those who have competency in C major ascending & descending into 4 octaves. Anyone not sufficiently competent is welcome, without guitar. If anyone prefers personal practice, or other small group work, this is fine & acceptable.
21.50 A Staff meeting to address the state of the course, and looking at how to support the work in the kitchen.
New Hell Boys aphorism: expect everything.
23.16 Inner & Outer Circles. Chromatic seating; dividing the octave into various ways. The opening A minor melodic theme to Eye Of The Needle played by relevant seats.
Chromatic Whizzers in 3, 2 & 1 groups; with women in key seats.
Dribble.
